Training Sessions on Confocal Raman Microscopy for Biology

Raman spectroscopy is a noninvasive, label-free technique that provides chemical information about samples. For several decades, it has been used in many fields of biology (cells, tissues, organoids, etc.).

Reconstructing chemical maps provides a better understanding of the composition and structure of biomolecules such as proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids, as well as how they vary not only spatially but also over time. This technique is widely used in cell biology and cancer research.

Brillouin Spectroscopy: Setting Up a VIPA 2 Crossed-Beam Brillouin Microscope with a Diffractive Mask

Brillouin spectroscopy is a noncontact, all-optical technique that provides information about the mechanical properties of matter. It is rapidly gaining ground in the field of biology, partly due to the emergence of a new optical component (VIPA). When coupled with a confocal microscope, a VIPA-based spectrograph enables rapid spectrum acquisition, paving the way for Brillouin imaging of various biological samples.

The goal of this short course is simple: to introduce the theoretical, technical, and practical aspects of Brillouin spectroscopy.

By the end of this training, participants will have a clear understanding of the available options and the techniques they can use to design a tool tailored to their specific needs.

How to Make the Most of Digital Pathology Solutions – Image Analysis Module

The implementation of digital pathology in laboratories streamlines and optimizes the process of slide review by pathologists and scientists and facilitates collaboration.

Beyond this advantage, digital pathology offers an expansion and diversification of analyses that pathologists and scientists cannot handle without the right tools.

Image analysis thus appears to be the solution that enables these multifactorial analyses.

However, its use must be properly regulated and monitored in order to provide reliable and robust answers to biological and scientific questions.

Sustainability Reporting: The European Regulatory Framework

This training program is designed for managers committed to lifelong learning who are interested in steering sustainability initiatives within their organizations and communicating these efforts to external stakeholders. Its objective is to develop and update participants’ knowledge and skills in sustainability reporting, in line with changes in the European regulatory framework. The course content is designed by faculty members from the University of Montpellier and Trinity College Dublin, who are specialists in the field.

Since 2025, the European Corporate Social Responsibility Directive (CSRD) has provided the general framework for sustainability reporting for many organizations. Understanding the fundamental principles of sustainability reporting helps managers steer the transition toward sustainability and communicate effectively with stakeholders—a key factor in their competitiveness.

This micro-certification will serve as proof of mastery of the fundamental elements of this new European regulatory framework, contributing to a broader dissemination of the Sustainable Development Goals throughout the business community, in line with the ambitions of the CHARM-EU alliance.

The course is taught in English, requires an estimated 18 hours of student effort, and is offered entirely online in an asynchronous format. This teaching method allows each student to adapt their learning pace to accommodate the professional commitments typical of continuing education.

Upon successful completion of the final exam, a micro-certification diploma from the University of Montpellier and a badge from the European CHARM-EU alliance are awarded.
