We encourage you to begin the application process at least 6 months before the start of the program for state-accredited degrees and 3 weeks before for short-term programs(timelines may vary depending on funding agencies and prescribing bodies).

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Continuing Professional Development(CPD) is a training program established by the Hospitals, Patients, Health, and Territories Act (HPST) in 2009 and amended by the Health System Modernization Act in 2016.

Intended for healthcare professionals in France(as defined in Chapter IV of the Public Health Code), CPD is a regulated continuing education program.

Every healthcare professional must complete a CPD program to fulfill their triennial requirement.

Objectives

It allows you to:

  • for healthcare professionals to take an active role in their own training,
  • to promote cross-professional collaboration and break down barriers between different settings of practice (community, hospital).

The objectives of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) are:

  • the evaluation and improvement of professional practices and risk management,
  • maintaining and updating knowledge and skills,
  • taking public health priorities into account (e.g., PAERPA).

Health Bridges

The Public Service Commitment Agreement (CESP)

In exchange for a monthly allowance of 1,200€ paid to them, recipientscommit—for a number of years equal to the duration during which they received the allowance, and for a minimum of two years—to perform their duties, beginningat the end of their training,in specific practice locations within an area characterized by insufficient healthcare services or difficulties in accessing care.

BRIDGES

PASSERELLES admission applications are for individuals who hold certain degrees and wish to gain direct admission to the 2nd or 3rd year of one of the four health science programs in France (medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, midwifery) without completing the 1st year (LAS, PASS, PACES, PCEM1, and PCEP1).

REORIENTATION

Requests for a CHANGE OF MAJOR are for students currently enrolled at the University of Montpellier who wish to change their program or field of study and transfer to another faculty, school, or institute within the University of Montpellier.

TRANSFER

TRANSFER requests are for students currently enrolled in a medical program at a French university who wish to continue their studies at the Montpellier-Nîmes School of Medicine. Student records are transferred only between French universities.

MMOP APPLICATION FROM OUTSIDE THE EEA

The MMOP application for non-EEA applicants is intended for individuals who hold a degree in a health-related field (medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, or midwifery) or who are currently pursuing studies in one of these four fields outside of Europe and wish to gain direct admission to the second year, with their academic background serving as a substitute for one year of PASS or LAS.

Once admitted to the second year of one of the health-related programs, a request for an exemption from coursework may be submitted to enter a higher academic year.

Selection Process

  • Between February 1 and March 15 of each year: Applicants submit their online application through the University of Montpellier’s eCandidat bleue application portal.
  • The application package consists of the documents listed in detail in the amended decree of March 24, 2017. (See the “Application Package” tab.)
  • Early April: The schools of medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy, as well as the Department of Midwifery at the University of Montpellier, submit their eligible applications to the central office, which reviews the applications once again and verifies that there are no duplicate applications at the national level.
  • April/May: Eligible applications are forwarded to the Passerelles Committee, which reviews them during the eligibility phase.
    2026 Eligibility Committee for the 2026–2027 academic year: Monday, April 13, 2026.
  • May/June: Candidates deemed eligible are invited to a 10-minute oral interview (5 minutes for the presentation + 5 minutes for questions) during the admissions phase. Oral interviews are conducted in person only (no remote interviews). In accordance with the principle of equal treatment of applicants, no exceptions will be granted.
    – Eligible candidates are invited to the oral interview via email by the central admissions office.
    – Admitted candidates are notified via email by the central admissions office.
    – Ineligible candidates and candidates who are not admitted are notified via email by the faculty/department to which they applied.

    2026 Admissions Committee for the 2026–2027 academic year: Monday, May 18, and Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Application

  • Transfer admissions allow holders of certain degrees or diplomasto enter directly into the second or third year of one of the four health-related degree programs in France (Medicine, Midwifery, Dentistry, Pharmacy), without having to complete the first year of health studies or take the MMOP entrance exams.
  • Applicants may indicate whether they wish to be admitted to the second or third year, but the admissions committee has the final say and will place admitted applicants in one of the two years.
  • Applicants are not permitted to applyto multiple institutionsand/orprograms inthe same year.
  • The right to apply for a bridge admission is limited: no one may make more than twoattempts.
