Training courses

All courses offered by the University of Montpellier are available as continuing education courses at:  

  • Employees, job seekers
  • Freelancers, artisans, self-employed entrepreneurs, etc.
  • People planning to return to education or pursue a specialization
  • Students only under a professional training contract

Provided they meet the prerequisites (educational requirements and professional experience), candidates may enroll in a continuing education program.



Short Courses

Short courses are learning programs of reduced duration, generally lasting from a few hours to a few days. They are designed to quickly impart practical or theoretical skills on a specific subject.

  1. Objective: Specialization and/or updating of knowledge within or between companies
  2. Duration: 1 to 5 days
  3. Format: In-person and/or remote
  4. Content: Short training courses available or customized training designed to meet your needs

Micro Certifications

Certificate and Open Badge certified by the University of Montpellier attesting to the acquisition of one or more skills following a short learning experience (7 to 35 hours) as part of a necessary supplement to professional adaptation and/or development, specialization in a field.

Specialized Education

As part of a university education, specialized courses, also known as "Teaching Units," allow you to acquire key skills in just a few hours that can be directly applied in your professional life.

Each course corresponds to a coherent set of lessons or educational activities focusing on the same theme or area of expertise.

Example: Thefirst semester of a Bachelor's degree in Psychology consists of four teaching units:

  • UE1: Introduction to Cognitive Psychology
  • EU2: Methodology in the humanities
  • EU3: English
  • UE4: Applied Statistics

Come back to university from time to time and join a class of students to take the courses of your choice.

National Certifications

National Certification officially attests, at the state level, to the mastery of specific professional skills that are recognized throughout the country and often listed in the National Directory of Professional Certifications (RNCP).

University degrees, Certificates

The University Diploma (also known as a "Diplôme d'Établissement") is created and awarded by an institution (university, grande école, training center). It is not generally recognized at the national level by the Department of Higher Education, but it may be recognized by employers and have good professional value, depending on its reputation.

Examples:

  • University diploma (UD)
  • Business school diploma (excluding master's degrees)
  • Certificate of Competence

National Diplomas

National Diplomas are officially recognized by the State and registered with the RNCP (National Directory of Professional Certifications). Regulated by the Ministry of Higher Education, National Diplomas have the same value throughout France (and often internationally).

Examples:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Master's degree
  • PhD
  • BTS (Advanced Technician's Certificate)
  • BUT (Bachelor of Technology)
  • State Diploma (DE) (e.g., DE in nursing, DE in special education)

Training courses funded by the region

Discover our training offer funded by the Occitanie Pyrénées Méditerranée Region as part of the FORPRO SUP regional program.

This training program is aimed at young and adult job seekers who have been out of school for more than 24 months and have not received training funded by the Region for at least one year.

The number of places benefiting from ForPro Sup Occitanie Region funding is limited. These places will be allocatedsubject to eligibility(as determined by your France Travail, MLJ, CAP EMPLOI advisor, etc.) and in order of receipt of complete applications. Once the quota has been filled, other applicants will be placed on a waiting list or may be accepted with another type of funding.

Work-study programs

There are two continuing professional education programs that allow for work-study arrangements, depending on your status:

  1. Professional training contract: work-study recruitment
    Anyone aged 16 or over, job seekers aged 26 or over
    "New opportunity"group: job seekers who have been registered on the job seekers list for more than one year
  2. PRO A: retraining or promotion through work-study programs
    Target audience: employees on permanent or fixed-term contracts with qualifications equivalent to or lower than a two-year college degree
