Training
All courses offered by the University of Montpellier are available through Continuing Education to:
- Employees, job seekers
- Professionals, artisans, sole proprietors, etc.
- People planning to return to school or pursue a specialization
- Students enrolled in a vocational training contract only
Provided they meet the prerequisites (academic requirements and professional experience), candidates may enroll in a continuing education program.
Short Courses
Short courses are short-term training programs, typically lasting from a few hours to a few days, designed to quickly impart practical or theoretical skills on a specific topic.
- Objective: Specialization and/or refresher training within or between companies
- Duration: 1 to 5 days
- Format: In-person and/or online
- Content: We offer short training courses or can design a customized training program tailored to your needs
Micro Certifications
A certificate and an Open Badge certified by the University of Montpellier attesting to the acquisition of one or more skills following a short learning experience (7 to 35 hours) as part of the training required for professional adaptation and/or advancement, or specialization in a particular field.
Specialized Courses
As an integral part of a university program, specialized courses—also known as “course units”—allow you to acquire key skills in just a few hours that you can immediately apply in your professional life.
Each course consists of a coherent set of classes or educational activities focused on a single theme or area of expertise.
Example: Thefirst semester of a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology consists of 4 course units:
- UE1: Introduction to Cognitive Psychology
- UE2: Methodology in the Humanities
- UE3: English
- UE4: Applied Statistics
Return to campus from time to time and join a class of students to take the courses of your choice.
National Certifications
National Certification officially attests, at the national level, to proficiency in specific professional skills that are recognized throughout the country and are often listed in the National Directory of Professional Certifications (RNCP).
University Degrees, Certificates
A university diploma (also known as an “institutional diploma”) is created and awarded by an institution (university, grande école, or training center). It is generally not recognized at the national level by the Ministry of Higher Education, but it may be recognized by employers and hold significant professional value, depending on its reputation
Examples:
- University Diploma (DU)
- Business school degree (excluding master’s degrees)
- Certificate of Competence
National Degrees
National Diplomas are officially recognized by the government and registered with the RNCP (National Directory of Professional Certifications). Regulated by the Ministry of Higher Education, National Diplomas hold the same value throughout France (and often internationally).
Examples:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Master's Degree
- PhD
- BTS (Advanced Vocational Diploma)
- BUT (Bachelor of Technology)
- State Diploma (DE) (e.g., DE in Nursing, DE in Special Education)
Training programs funded by the region
Discover our training programs funded by the Occitanie-Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region as part of the FORPRO SUP regional program.
This training program is intended for young and adult job seekers who have been out of the school system for more than 24 months and have not participated in any training funded by the Region for at least one year.
The number of spots funded by ForPro Sup Région Occitanie is limited. These spots will be allocatedsubject to eligibility(as determined by your France Travail, MLJ, CAP EMPLOI advisor, etc.) and in the order in which complete applications are received. Once the quota is filled, other applicants will be placed on a waiting list or may be accepted with a different type of funding.
Work-study programs
There are two continuing vocational training programs that offer work-study options, depending on your status:
- Professional Training Contract: Work-Study Recruitment
Open to the general public aged 16 and older; job seekers aged 26 and older
“New Chance” Program: job seekers who have been registered on the job seeker list for more than one year - PRO A: Career Transition or Advancement Through Work-Study Programs
Target Audience: Employees with permanent contracts (CDI) or temporary contracts (CUI) who hold a qualification equivalent to or lower than a two-year college degree
