Validation of prior learning

The validation of prior learning is divided into two distinct systems:

VALIDATION OF ACQUIRED EXPERIENCE (VAE)

This involves obtaining professional certification (diploma, professional title, or professional qualification certificate) by highlighting your professional experience.
You do not take any courses, but you prepare a Livret II (Booklet II) detailing the skills you have acquired through your experience.

Example: Claire has five years of professional experience as a department manager. She can apply for a Professional Degree in Department Management and Administration through the VAE program.

VALIDATION OF PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ( VAPP)

A program that allows access to university education without the normally required diploma.

Example: A person with a two-year college degree and significant professional experience may apply for a VAPP in order to enroll in a master's program.
