THE DAEU-B: STATE DIPLOMA FOR ADMISSION TO THE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM

Offered by theFaculty of Sciences at the University of Montpellier, the DAEU-B—or Diploma for Access to University Studies (science track)—is an alternative to the traditional baccalaureate, specifically designed for those who wish to resume their university studies after a break in their academic career.

This program is designed foradults (employees, job seekers) who did not earn a high school diploma and who wish to change course and return to school to pursue a program that requires a foundation in science.

The DAEU-B thus enables students to acquire scientific skills at a level equivalent to that of the general baccalaureate by taking courses in mathematics, French, physics, chemistry, and biology, as well as receiving guidance on their post-DAEU plans.

GRADUATION AS A STARTING POINT

According to data collected from last year’s graduates, all of them continued their academic studies at the start of the following academic year, with the majority enrolling in the Faculty of Sciences (50%) in a wide variety of fields: life sciences, computer science, mathematics, neuroscience, and more…

These figures reflect the ambition and diversity of the projects led by the graduates, highlighting the quality of the training program and the support they receive.

This program therefore represents avaluable opportunity for adults who wish to return to school without a high school diploma, offering them a new chance to learn and grow in an academic and professional world that is constantly evolving. This event highlights the importance of continuing education and access to education for all, regardless of age or background.
