Learn About Sun Protection: New Short Course
The School of Science has recently developed a short course on sun protection: Formulation of Sunscreen Products
This one-day course is designed to teach you how to develop a sunscreen product that combines performance, effectiveness, environmental sustainability, health safety, innovative texture, and a pleasant sensory experience.
Objectives
- Understand the methodology for constructing a solar formula
- Understanding the limitations of this type of formulation
- Stay up to date on the latest raw materials and suppliers in formulation to drive innovation
- Learn how to formulate a sunscreen product through two hands-on lab sessions (one sunscreen with organic filters and one with physical filters)
- Mastering the Characterization of Sunscreen Products
- In vitro evaluation of SPF on PMMA plates for products formulated in the laboratory
Target Audience
This training program is intended for professionals working in the cosmetics industry, specifically in R&D in the field of formulation.
Required level: Beginner to intermediate
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of formulation
