Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is available for most qualifications registered with the RNCP, with the following notable exceptions:

• general diplomas (e.g., general baccalaureate);
• from the DAEU B;
• certain certifications;
• certain degrees corresponding to regulated professions or meeting specific safety standards;
• certifications not registered with the RNCP (Article L6411-1 of the Labor Code).

The University of Montpellier awards only its own degrees.

Student support at the University of Montpellier consists of five stages, as defined by the National Charter for Student Support:

• Individual interview and career path analysis;
• Connection between the framework and the candidate's background;
• Descriptive analysis of the candidate's activities;
• Feedback and Exchanges on Workbook II;
• Preparing for the interview with the panel.

You are not required to notify your employer, unless you want to involve them in your funding or if you wish to request VAE leave.

If you wish to pursue a VAE process on your own initiative, you are entitled to 24 hours of VAE leave (CVAE), which may be taken consecutively or non-consecutively.

This leave allows you to take time off during your work hours:

• either to take the assessment exams;
• or to receive assistance in preparing for your validation.

There is no minimum length of service requirement, whether you are on a fixed-term or permanent contract.

You will be interviewed during one of the two annual sessions (May–June–July or October–November–December).

The interview is primarily conducted in person, although remote options have been set up to accommodate all candidates.

• 20 minutes of questions and answers;

In this case, there are two possibilities:

1. The admissions committee believes you need to complete part of the program to round out your skills.
   
   You will enroll as a continuing education student to take the courses the admissions committee specifies.
   
   Upon completion of these courses and based on your grades, you will either earn the degree or not.
2. The committee believes that your presentation is not comprehensive enough on certain points and may ask you to write a supplementary paper on a specific topic.
   
   After reviewing your paper, the committee will determine whether your supplementary work is sufficient to grant the degree in its entirety.
