Short training course: Vaccination by pharmacy technicians
In a context of strengthening the role of pharmacies in prevention and public health, this short training course has been designed by the Faculty of Pharmacy of Montpellier to enable pharmacy technicians to acquire the practical and theoretical skills necessary to administer vaccinations.

Targeted skills
This short, practical training course will enable pharmacy technicians to:
- to learn how to administer vaccines,
- to control adverse effects,
- to strengthen knowledge about vaccines and communication with patients.
At the end of the training, participants will be able to contribute effectively to vaccination campaigns, safely and in compliance with the legal framework.
This increase in skills is part of a strategy to enhance the profession and respond to growing local healthcare needs.

- Updating knowledge in the form of video clips (remote)
- Regulatory aspects (20 minutes)
- Bacteria and viruses (2 x 10 minutes)
- Vaccination and vaccine-preventable diseases (20 minutes)
- Practical teaching (in person)
- Training in vaccination techniques
- Management of post-vaccination events (malaise, allergies, etc.)
- Evaluations
- Knowledge before practical teaching
- From the vaccination gesture to the end of training
Training sessions
Several training sessions are planned for the current year:
- October 9, 2025 (e-learning training begins October 3)
- October 13, 2025 (e-learning training begins October 7)
A certificate of completion will be issued at the end of the training course.
