Learn how to monitor plant communities
The Faculty of Sciences atthe University of Montpellier has developed a new short course titled “Introduction to Plant Community Monitoring,” which is primarily intended for continuing education students.
This short course on monitoring plant communities is designed for anyone who wishes to deepen their knowledge of ecology and ecosystem management.

OBJECTIVES
This training course is designed to introduce participants to the methodologies used for monitoring plant communities. It offers an integrated approach that combines theoretical instruction, fieldwork, and data analysis. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on ecological management issues while developing practical and analytical skills.
Training session
The short course “Introduction to Plant Community Monitoring” consists of 21 hours spread over 3 days, including:
- 7 hours in the classroom (theory)
- 7 hours in the field on the Larzac Plateau
- 7 hours of data analysis
A training session is scheduled for this year:
- June 16, 17, and 18, 2025
