Professionalization contract

An employment contract based on the principle ofwork-study, it enables its beneficiaries to acquire a professional qualification or to supplement initial training with an additional qualification with a view to gaining access to a specific position within the company.

Audience
  • Young people aged 16 to 25 to complete their initial training
  • Jobseekers aged 26 and over
  • Recipients of the revenu de solidarité active (RSA), allocation de solidarité spécifique (ASS) or allocation aux adultes handicapés (AAH). 
  • People who have benefited from a subsidized contract (contrat unique d'insertion - CUI)
Employers concerned

All private-sector employers liable for financing continuing vocational training, with the exception of the State, local authorities and their public administrative establishments.

Public industrial and commercial establishments (e.g. RATP, SNCF, Office National des Forêts) subject to the financing of continuing vocational training, and shipping companies, can enter into professionalization contracts.

Steps for future work-study students
  • Applying for a sandwich course at the University of Montpellier
  • Find a company
  • Obtain approval for work assignments from the training supervisor
  • Contact SFC-UM for administrative and financial arrangements
Employer procedures
  • Contact SFC-UM for administrative and financial support
  • Appoint a tutor within the company
  • Sign the training agreement with SFC-UM and CERFA EJ20 with the work-study student
  • Submit the funding application to your OPCO no later than 5 days after the start date of the contract. The OPCO has 20 days in which to give its opinion on the conformity of the contract and decide whether or not it will cover the cost, and then send the contract in digital format to the DREETS in the place where the contract was signed. If no response is received within this period, the OPCO will assume responsibility for the contract.
  • File a DUE with URSSAF
    NB: For applicants who are not nationals of the European Economic Area (EEA), it is the employer's responsibility to verify the existence of supporting documents (residence permit, work permit) before the work-study contract begins.
