The video game industry suffers from a number of stereotypes : lack of gender diversity, ethical problems and questionable pay and social practices.

To address this issue, theIUT Montpellier-Sète opens a new training in conjunction with the Continuing Education Department of the University of Montpellier: the University Diploma in Videogame Project Management.

As part of the France 2030 Investment Program for the Future (Programme d'Investissements d'Avenir France 2030), the Diagnosis of the Video Game Industry in Francesupported by the Push Start association and operated by Caisse des Dépôts, indicated in May 2023 a need for public trainingparticularly around management.

Over and above this observation, this new University Diploma also responds to a clearly identified issue The videogame industry needs to rethink the management of videogame projects, which can suffer from a number of stereotypes: lack of gender diversity, ethical problems and sometimes questionable pay and social practices.
