DAEU B Graduation Ceremony

Since the 1970s, the Continuing Education Department has been committed to helping those who have not followed the traditional path from kindergarten to college achieve this equivalent of a high school diploma and thus be able to pursue higher education. A total of 1,283 people have earned the Diploma of Access to University Studies —science track—at our institution.

On the occasion of the first DAEU B graduation ceremony on Monday, October 9, 2023, we are honoring the class of 2021–2022 in the presence of Ms. Marie Castro, Vice President of the Occitanie Region responsible for Vocational Training; Ms. Agnès Fichard-Caroll, Vice President of the University of Montpellier; Ms. Laurence Weil, Director of the Continuing Education Department at the University of Montpellier, Mr. Marc Herzlich, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, faculty members, and graduates.

Men and women who have taken on the challenge of exploring new personal and professional horizons by returning to school and pursuing careers more in line with their aspirations. A class of about fifty students in Montpellier (with a day group and an evening group), Nîmes, Béziers, and the Piémont d’Hérault region (Ganges and Lodève). They balanced their professional and family lives with preparing for a degree, overcoming difficulties and doubts, demonstrating perseverance, and working hard to achieve their goals.

As part of its responsibilities for training job seekers, the Occitanie Region enters into an annual agreement with the University to provide access to the DAEU B ( ) throughFORPRO SUP. This support from the regional government has benefited 85% of those enrolled at the University over the past five years and, through the AMI Modernization of the Training System initiative, has enabled us to fund consultants to assist DAEU B instructors in continuing the digitization of supplementary course materials for our students. New cohorts benefit from these digital resources as a complementary educational tool.

Congratulations to the graduates!
