DAEU B diploma ceremony

Since the 1970s, the Continuing Education Department has been committed to helping those who have not followed the linear path from kindergarten to university obtain the equivalent of a high school diploma and thus be able to pursue higher education. A total of 1,283 people have obtained the University Entrance Diploma – science option – at our institution.

On the occasion of the first DAEU B diploma ceremony on Monday, October 9, 2023, we are honoring the class of 2021-2022 in the presence of Ms. Marie Castro, Vice President of the Occitanie Region in charge of Vocational Training, Ms. Agnès Fichard-Caroll, Vice President of the University of Montpellier, Laurence Weil, Director of Continuing Education at the University of Montpellier, Marc Herzlich, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Sciences, teachers, and graduates.

Women and men who have set themselves the challenge of exploring new personal and professional opportunities by returning to education and training, with a view to pursuing a career more in line with their aspirations. A class of around fifty trainees in Montpellier (with a day group and an evening group), Nîmes, Béziers, and Piémont d'Hérault (Ganges and Lodève). They balanced their professional and family lives with preparing for a diploma, overcoming difficulties and doubts, demonstrating perseverance, and working hard to achieve their goals.

As part of its remit for training job seekers, the Occitanie Region enters into an agreement with the University each year to provide access to the DAEU B ( ) qualification (FORPRO SUP). This support from the local authority has benefited 85% of those enrolled at the University over the last five years and, through the AMI Modernisation de l'appareil de formation (Modernization of the Training System), has enabled us to fund consultants to assist DAEU B teachers in continuing the digitization of course supplements for our learners. New cohorts benefit from these digital resources as a complementary teaching tool.

Congratulations to the graduates!
