DPC
Continuing Professional Development(CPD) is a training scheme initiated by the Hospital, Patients, Health and Territories (HPST) law in 2009 and adapted by the Health System Modernization law in 2016.
Dedicated to French healthcare professionals*(as defined in the French Public Health Code, Chapter IV), CPD is a regulated training scheme.
All healthcare professionals must follow a CPD program to fulfill their three-year obligation.
It enables :
- to enable healthcare professionals to play an active role in their own training;
- encourage inter-professional cooperation and decompartmentalization between different types of practice (town, hospital).
The objectives of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) are to:
- assessment and improvement of professional and risk management practices;
- maintaining and updating knowledge and skills;
- taking account of public health priorities (e.g. PAERPA).
